Val D. Hornstein

He has developed a successful specialty in securities arbitration and litigation where he has received multiple million dollar plus awards for his Clients. Val is a graduate of Colgate University and George Washington University Law School and is licensed to practice in California, New York and the District of Columbia, as well as numerous federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States. Prior to his legal career, Val was an information systems analyst with the global information technology company, Unisys Corporation. A former board member of the American Judicature Society, he has served on the State Bar of California Business Law Section, Cyberspace Subcommittee, was an adjunct professor of e-Business in the Graduate International Business Studies Program of Dominican University of California. He serves as judge pro tem and settlement conference panelist in the San Francisco and Marin County Superior Courts and is an arbitrator with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He writes and speaks widely on legal issues.

Larry D. Johnson

Larry is a Registered Patent Attorney, who, for over 25 years has focused his practice exclusively on matters related to intellectual property. Larry primarily handles domestic patent application preparation, filing, and prosecution, with other intellectual property matters comprising the remainder, including the administration of foreign patent prosecution and maintenance; trademark and copyright registrations; licensing; validity, infringement and patentability opinion letters; and intellectual property counseling. Larry received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida, his Master of Science degree from the University of Florida, and his Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law. He formerly worked with the firm of Townsend and Townsend in San Francisco, CA, and post studies tenures at Union Oil Company of California and Exxon Company USA. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and is a member of American Intellectual Property Law Association and the State Bar of California Intellectual Property Section.

Mike has 30 plus years of experience in all phases of litigation in State and Federal courts, including trials, appeals, mediations and arbitrations. He has experience in all facets of business and real estate matters and has developed specialties in areas as diverse as automotive dealer law and internet domain name litigation. For many years he represented one of the largest landlords in Los Angeles. Mike is admitted to the State Bars of California and Pennsylvania. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Indiana University and Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law. Michael’s most recent published opinion is CRS Recovery v. Northbay Real Estate Inc., 600 F.3d. 1138 (9 Cir. 2010), in the area of jurisdiction in internet domain name disputes.

Mike has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of litigation, including trials, appeals, arbitrations and mediations. He is also a mediator and is on the neutral panels for the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District and United States District Court, Northern District, California. He is knowledgeable in a broad range of substantive legal areas, including business, real property, intellectual property, construction, insurance, public entity, professional malpractice, products liability, personal injury and general liability. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley and his Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law. A native Californian, Mike is admitted to the State Bar of California and a number of federal courts.
